I’ve been baking ever since I was a little girl.

I love spending time in my kitchen, kneading bread, seeing the dough develop in my hands, trying out new recipes and making up my own! My passion is home-baked bread, cakes and pastries. It was this passion that pulled me away from corporate life and toward running my own baking school.

I received my professional training at Westminster Kingsway College as well as Lakefield College, where I earned a Professional Chef Diploma Level 3 in Patisserie and Confectionery.

I have run my school, The Baking Lab, for 7 wonderful years. During that time I have taught thousands of students how to bake great tasting breads, cakes and pastries from scratch. I teach out of my home kitchen in West Hampstead and various schools and colleges in London.

On the home front, I am happily married to Marshall (my loud American) and proud mum to two small kids: Kasper & Astrid.

Who bakes with me

Each week I run small, intimate scheduled classes in my kitchen. Everything is hands-on and there is a lot of 1-1 attention for my students. Most people attend on their own, but since the class is relaxed and always very friendly everyone is at ease as soon as they enter my kitchen. My classes are quite international and I have students travelling from far away as China, India, Uganda, Brasil, USA, Japan, Kuwait and South Korea. But I also have people walking here in less than 10 minutes from their house :).

In addition to my scheduled classes I run private baking classes and events. My classes here have run the gamut. On the one hand, I have baked with families visiting London who want to explore the Afternoon Tea phenomenon. On the other hand I have hosted corporate classes for Google, Facebook, Moet, Thermomix, Bobbins Bicycles, Wellcome collection, Lacoste, NHS to mention a few. In between I have entertained countless hen do’s and birthday celebrations.

Beyond the Baking Classes

Every year I run a Culinary Holiday in Tuscany in early May. If you are into baking, cooking, wine and Tuscany, then join us for our next adventure!

I have been featured together with a couple on the American TV show “House Hunters”. I’ve had the honor to meet and host Dame Kelly Holmes when she interviewed Catherine Bohart for her podcast on mental health. I have even imitated the Silverfox Paul Hollywood for a Baking Class at the Waitrose Cookery school in Central London. In November I ran Christmas themed baking classes at the demo kitchen at Fortnum & Masons for children. And my other TV debut was on Islam Channel doing a demo of bread dough!

In the past I have worked with creative agencies to help them understand bread baking for their client work. I have created baking related events for PR companies promoting brands and new products. Finally I have consulted bakeries in India, The Middle East and Africa to develop  their baking menu with new products based on current trends.
