Introduction to Pastry Class
In this class we will be baking: Tarte Au Citron / Apple Tart / Pinwheels / Parmesan Cheese Straws
Pastry making is often daunting, but can be really quick and easy once you know some key techniques! In this accessible class, we will take you through the essentials of pastry-making, giving you plenty of hints and tips for success.
You will learn how to make your own sweet pastry. You will learn how to roll the pastry without it cracking as well as how to blind bake - there will be no soggy bottoms here! We will use this pastry to make the classic Tarte au Citron as well as a delicious apple tart.
The second pastry we will make in this class is a rough puff. Making rough puff is very satisfying to make as you get to work with a laminated dough but it is not quite as time consuming as making puff pastry. You still get the beautiful layers in a rough puff pastry. We will make pinwheels and Parmesan cheese straws out of your own handmade rough puff pastry.
This is a 3.5 hour long class. Coffee, tea and a home baked treat will be served upon arrival. You will take home all the pastry that you bake.
