Cake Baking Masterclass



In this class we will be baking: Lemon Drizzle Cake / Carrot Cake / Chocolate Torte

Why does my cake sink in the middle? Why is it dry/dense? And why does my cake have large air bubbles?? These are only some of the questions that home bakers ask themselves when they cut into a newly baked cake. In this class we will help you understand why things go wrong, and more importantly, how to prevent it! This is a Master class where tips and tricks on how to get the perfect moist cake is readily shared.

We will make a classic Lemon Drizzle Cake; moist and zesty, decorated with lemon icing and candied lemon zest.  This will be followed by individual Carrot Cakes (I am sure I am not the only one who thinks that carrot cakes are actually healthy??).

These scrumptious little cakes will be topped with a zingy cream cheese frosting and candied carrot strips for an authentic and original garnish.  Finally, we will finish the day off with a beautiful flourless Chocolate Torte.  If that is not going to impress your friends, I don’t know what will!

This is a 5.5 hour long class. Coffee, tea and a home baked treat will be served upon arrival and a light lunch will be served halfway through the class.  You will take home all the cakes that you bake.
