FAQs

Do I have to be a great cook to learn how to bake?

No, not at all. A little passion for home-made baking is all you need.

How do I sign up for a baking class?

It is easy to sign up for one of our baking classes, click on the ‘Book Now’ button which is displayed next to the class description. Bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis and full payment is required when you sign up.

I’m allergic to dairy, wheat, gluten, Marmite…

Please contact us before you book a class to let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements you might have. We will then be able to recommend the best class for you.

I would like to give a friend a baking course as a gift; how does that work?

You can purchase gift vouchers on our website. Just click here and follow the instructions. You can buy a voucher for £85, £105, £125 or £145 depending on the type of class you want your friend to attend. The gift voucher is valid for six months and makes a great gift to anyone who is interested in learning how to bake.

What do I need to bring to class?

You don’t need to bring anything, just come along and we will supply everything needed for the baking class.

What are the teaching methods?

In every class I will take you through all of the steps of home-made baking. The class is very hands on and we have chosen to make the classes relatively small in size so you will get lots of personal attention.

For the cake baking classes we will be using KichenAid stand mixers – they are ideal for cake batters and ensure a light, fluffy texture. Don’t worry if you do not have a stand mixer at home – all the cake recipes can be made using a handheld mixer.

Can you arrange a private party for a group of friends/group of co-workers?

Yes, we would love to host a baking party for you, whether it is a hen-party, team building event or your child’s birthday. Have a look under the Private Parties section for more details.

Where does it take place?

The classes all take place at the Baking Lab. 81 Loudoun Road, NW8 0DQ. Click here for map.
